As the Manager, Hardware Development, you will oversee a team. This is a hands-on role with approximately 70% engineering development and the remainder mentoring and coaching the development team. The expectation is that you build a high performing team that delivers leading edge hardware that supports our business and helps us to build our position as a market leader in the fast-growing IoT hardware products space.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead our hardware engineering team by example and create a high-performing team, that is highly motivated and self-driven.
  • Take the electronics design through schematic, layout, prototype cycles, verification, and into production.
  • Select best in class components and document your designs through schematics, block diagrams, and technical design documents.
  • Work closely with other hardware engineers and multi-disciplinary teams (product, software, verification, etc.) to deliver the best systems.
  • Be hands-on in system level and board-level debugging of prototypes and in-market products.
  • Research and prototype new technologies for integration in customer products.
  • Some travel may occasionally be required (10%).

Skills

  • 5+ years leadership experience in electronics design, system engineering or similar.
  • Strong ability to work well with others.
  • A demonstrable passion for innovation, building and creating things.
  • Excellent debugging and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Mandarin and English.

Experience And Education Qualifications

  • B.Eng degree in electrical engineering.

As our Embedded Systems Engineer, you will design, develop, test and document new software, firmware and hardware systems for LOOFII’s products. Our products are multi-faceted and you will get to work in the areas sensor network. You will also support, maintain and improve existing designs. In addition to product development with an emphasis on design-for-manufacturability, you will provide engineering support to the production floor. Reporting to the R&D Manager, you will drive product innovation and become an instrumental member of our team as we continue to grow our business.

Job Responsibilities

  • Participate in collecting, developing and analyzing design requirements.
  • Analyze problems in design, recommend and implement solutions in a timely manner.
  • Design, document and test hardware from the component level up with a focus on design-for-manufacturability.
  • Develop code, test and debug to meet system requirements. Analyze and enhance the efficiency and stability of system resources.
  • Provide input to project planning, budgeting, scheduling and tracking.
  • Create test protocols and end-of-line test requirements, perform design validation testing and participate in external testing for EMC and ESD compliance. Collect data and prepare reports.
  • Champion all documentation: time, cost and resource estimates, issue or respond to Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), update Source Control Documents (SCDs), update processes, and maintain other Engineering documentation.
  • Work closely with Manufacturing Engineer and provide technical support and recommendations to enhance production and quality control.
  • Lead, direct and review the work of other design team members and ensure project is completing on schedule.
  • Design and document system software architecture for embedded devices.
  • Create conceptual hardware designs, provide theory of operation, and identify input/output requirements.
  • Take responsibility for the design and overall quality of the product and provide leadership and guidance to junior engineers.

Skills

  • Must have experience with analog circuit design, digital hardware design, PCB layout (Cadence) and single-chip micro-controllers.
  • Solid programming experience using structured software design with C or C++.
  • Experience designing and creating requirement specifications, test plans and protocols.
  • Hands-on experience with development and troubleshooting of both hardware and software for embedded targets.
  • Experience ensuring software quality, participating in code reviews, working with coding standards.
  • Familiar with configuration management, defect tracking, and version control tools.
  • Working knowledge of PCBA manufacturing and engineering processes.
  • Experience specifying and documenting software architectures and requirements.
  • Ability to write comprehensive technical design documentation.
  • Experience with project management methodologies and tools.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills.

Experience And Education Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering required.
  • 5-10 years of Embedded Systems Engineering experience.
  • Attention to detail with good analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple processes simultaneously.
  • Good time management, scheduling and prioritization skills with ability to make effective decisions.
  • Must have a proven track record of designing products built in a medium volume manufacturing environment.

As the product manager for the newly created product line, you will drive the product management and development efforts with responsibilities. Skills

  • Have a good command in English (required), Mandarin (preferred) and Cantonese.
